Ageing

Ageing

The ageing face is a complex phenomenon with many contributing factors. Skeletal changes result in a lack of support for the soft tissues on top, facial ligaments loosen, muscle density alters, we lose facial volume and fat pads begin to sag, secondary to the effects of gravity. Simultaneously, the canvas of our skin stretches with time, loses collagen and elasticity and overall, becomes a less effective barrier to the outside world.

However, while ageing is inevitable, expectations of how we look as we age have radicalized over the years, as skincare and treatment options have advanced to provide us with exciting opportunities to maintain excellent skin health.

Due to the complexity and unique way in which we age, it is crucial for us to be treated as individuals when it comes to treatment planning and therefore it is highly advisable to see a clinician, who favours individual assessment, to allow correct diagnosis of the anatomical structures in need of a little support. Performed properly, this will allow for robust treatment planning that aims to provide you with pleasing results.

There are plenty of treatment options available to you here at Countryside Cosmetics to soften the signs of ageing, such as Dermal Fillers that help to replace lost facial volume, Anti-Wrinkle Injections using Botox® to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, Chemical Peels to improve the overall texture, tone and quality of your skin, and resurfacing treatments with Tixel® for more impactful changes, improving skin laxity and softening advanced ageing.
