Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Noses come in all shapes and sizes, and often contribute largely to how we feel about our overall appearance. Until recently, expensive surgery was the only option for those wishing to make nose alterations, but in recent years non-surgical rhinoplasty has provided the public with an exciting treatment alternative.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty, often referred to as ‘medical rhinoplasty’, involves using small increments of dermal filler to blend lumps, lift the tip of the nose and straighten the overall appearance, with potentially life-changing results for the client.

Unlike the surgical alternative, medical rhinoplasty is not permanent. Results last 12-18 months on average, but this will vary based on individual anatomy, metabolism and lifestyle habits. However, the procedure has little to no downtime, and can be performed in as little as 15 minutes without the need for a general anesthetic or invasive surgical methods.

A common misconception is that in adding volume the nose will appear larger. But in actual fact, smoothing and straightening altars the way that light reflects off the nose, making it appear smaller than before treatment.

Due to the complexity of the anatomy of the nose, medical rhinoplasty is an advanced procedure and should only be performed by a suitably trained Nurse, Doctor or Dentist.

Nurse Emma Smyth was trained to perform this advanced procedure by Dr. Ash Labib, a specialist Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon, world renowned for his expertise in the field.

Dermal Fillers are injectable products used to cosmetically enhance facial features, restore volume loss and fill in facial lines. They should only be administered by a medical practitioner whose knowledge and understanding of the relevant anatomy will help to minimise the risk complications and allow effective management in the event of one.

Results of Dermal Filler treatments are instant. However, some localised inflammation is common, particularly with lip injections, and therefore it may take up to two weeks to see the final results, though most commonly this settles after 2-3 days.

Dermal Fillers usually take around 20 minutes to administer. You will meet with your Nurse Prescriber Emma Smyth to discuss the desired results and decide a treatment plan together. Topical anaesthetic will be applied prior to your treatment to minimise any discomfort before treatment in administered.

There are different categories of Dermal Filler, both natural and synthetic. Countryside Cosmetics works with the FDA approved Juvederm, Belotero and Teosyal ranges due to their excellent safety profiles and lasting results. These brands contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar found in the body that absorbs moisture and maintains skin hydration. Facial fillers arrive in a pre-packed syringe and contain the smooth gel ready for treatment. The gel also contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to reduce discomfort during the procedure.

The results of Dermal Filler treatments vary depending on the individual, but most products last 9-12 months.

Dermal fillers can be used to treat a variety of problem areas such as: cheeks, jawline, tear troughs, marionette/nasolabial folds, mouth corners and chin.

Bruising can be minimised by avoiding aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs and alcohol for 24 hours pre and post treatment. It is important after your treatment that you do not rub or massage the area, take hot baths or engage in strenuous exercise. We advise you sleep with your head elevated on a pillow for the first night following your procedure. You will receive a comprehensive aftercare advice sheet following your treatment to ensure you leave Countryside Cosmetics feeling confident after your procedure, and are able to obtain the best results.
